Before and after comparison of the Santa Fe Place website redesign, highlighting the transformation from an outdated website to a modern, accessible design.

Challenge

Santa Fe Place needed a website that better reflected the warmth, care, and community experienced by residents and families every day. Their existing website provided limited opportunities to showcase residential homes, daily activities, staff relationships, and the organization’s broader mission.

The previous site also presented structural challenges. Much of the content was built around large image files, making updates difficult, limiting SEO value, and creating mobile usability issues. As a result, the website did not provide the flexibility, accessibility, or search visibility needed to support the organization long term.

The site also needed to support multiple audiences. Families researching care options required clear information about services and living environments, while prospective employees needed a better understanding of career opportunities and workplace culture. The challenge was creating a digital experience that felt welcoming and personal while organizing information in a way that was easy to navigate and understand.

Santa Fe Place website redesign showcased across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices featuring an accessible, modern layout and community-focused branding.

Solution

Back40 Design developed a modern website focused on storytelling, accessibility, and trust. The site architecture creates clear pathways for families, community partners, and prospective employees while presenting Santa Fe Place’s services and programs in a simple, approachable format.

A major emphasis was placed on visual storytelling. Santa Fe Place already had strong photography and active social media content that captured the authenticity of daily life within the organization. Back40 used those existing assets as a foundation for the website, giving the design team meaningful, real-world visuals that reflected residents, staff, activities, and the welcoming culture of the community.

Rather than focusing solely on facilities or services, the website showcases the people and relationships that define the Santa Fe Place experience. The new platform also gives the organization a more flexible structure for content updates, improved mobile usability, and stronger SEO potential through real page content instead of image-based information

The employment section was also redesigned to support recruiting efforts, providing prospective caregivers and support staff with a clearer understanding of available opportunities, organizational values, and the meaningful impact of their work.

Result

The new website provides Santa Fe Place with a digital presence that more accurately reflects its mission and community impact. Families can more easily explore services, learn about residential programs, and gain confidence in the organization’s approach to care.

Back40 also incorporated Santa Fe Place’s active social media presence into the homepage, helping bring fresh, authentic community updates directly into the website experience. This connection strengthens trust, reinforces the organization’s real-world activity, and gives visitors a more immediate view of the people and moments that make Santa Fe Place unique.

The improved employment experience supports recruiting efforts while the enhanced visual presentation helps communicate the welcoming, family-oriented culture that sets Santa Fe Place apart. Built on a flexible foundation, the website provides a scalable platform that will continue supporting the organization as it grows and serves future generations of residents and families.
