It’s official. Back40 Design and the Edmond Outlook are now located at 80 East 5th Street in Edmond, OK – proper. We’re still hanging art and figuring out what works best where – but we’re pretty much settled in. We moved the last weekend in September. Everything went smoothly and we were operational the following Monday.
Our studio is located on the ground floor of the area’s only four story building (a skyscraper by Edmond standards). We designed our new space and spec’ed the materials. We were going for modern, ‘designy’ and flexible.
Our design clients are greeted with a comfy sitting area furnished with retro Herman Miller furniture and George Nelson lamps (because we’re fancy). The seating area is flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows to the left and a glassed-in conference room to the right.
The web development space is open with groupings of desks. The walls are lined with offices for project managers, account executives and support staff. We upgraded our workspaces with Clara tables by Izzy Design and Sayl chairs by Herman Miller (again – because we’re fancy).
The studio floor plan is over 30% larger than our previous space and features a 12 foot wide hallway that will allow for future growth (at least 6 more workstations). The layout also includes an additional conference room so we can easily accommodate overlapping meetings.
If you are not familiar with our Edmond’s 5th Street – you should be. Its a fabulous little pocket of Edmond business and culture. We’re next door
is the UCO Jazz Lab. Around the corner is the Edmond Historical Society & Museum (our client, thank you very much) and diagonally across from our office is Stephenson Park, which by the way, has wifi. Hungry? 501 Cafe, Boulevard Steakhouse, Colby’s Grill and Hideaway Pizza are few steps away.
If you’re a prospective design client stop by and say hi. We’d like to learn about your project.
